We were created to live in community and Jesus has commanded us to share each others stressful times. Stephen Ministry trains and supervises lay persons, called Stephen Ministers, to provide one-to-one confidential Christian care to those experiencing life's difficult and challenging situations. A Stephen Minister's role is to be available, listen, maintain strict confidentiality, and refrain from passing judgment.
Our Mission: To offer focused one-on-one Christian care by walking alongside those who are facing one of life's challenging times.
Our Goal: To create an environment safe enough for an individual to risk open discussion, personal change, and healing.
2010 Stephen Ministry Training to begin in early October and is currently slated for Monday evenings.
The PBS "Religion and Ethics" news show recently aired an eight-minute feature on Stephen Ministry that vividly describes the life-changing ministry happening in thousands of congregations.
