Short-Term Teams

Sunnybrook sees mission trips as an opportunity to strengthen and encourage our partners around the world. We truly desire to use the resources and the gifts we have been given to empower indigenous churches and ministries to sustain themselves, evangelize and disciple their own nations, as well as plant other churches and send out missionaries of their own as modeled in Scripture. In addition, we have found that these experiences greatly challenge those who participate to consider deeper involvement in ministry in both the world and their own communities.

  • Mission Trip Request

    Review the following expectations and information before applying to lead a mission trip:

    • Fill out & Submit “Mission Trip Request Form” (located in “Resources”below) 
    • Your request will be forwarded to the mission committee chairman and, if necessary, on to the mission committee to be reviewed for approval.
    • Once the information is received, you will be notified of the progress. If further discussion is required you will be contacted promptly. 
    • Hold one meeting (minimum) covering the following criteria in an orientation format:
    • Mission of the host organization (who you will work with)
    • Location/Demographics
    • Purpose of the short term trip
    • Fundraising
    • Packing/Identification
    • Immunizations
    • Travel details
    • Lodging/Meals
    • Money
    • Safety Issues
    • Translators
    • Schedule
    • Cultural sensitivity (i.e. social ramifications for giving things out to children/adults- ask host organization).
    • Contact Office Manager, Jill Prather, to establish communication and financial oversight of mission team members.
    • Oversee all payments of mission team members, and make sure payments are received in a timely manner and set up a payment schedule with team and Sunnybrook Office Manager.
    • Review the missions “Resources” available on the Sunnybrook website.
    • Educate and direct mission team members to the “Resources” section of the website for helpful information, such as funding requests, etc.

    Financial Assistance for Short-Term Missions Trips

    The Sunnybrook Missions Committee reviews requests for short-term mission participant support based on the following criteria:

    • The purpose of Mission Trip Financial Assistance is to help and encourage church members to participate in short-term mission trips and projects that are being sponsored by Sunnybrook. 
    • Preference for Mission Trip Financial Assistance is given to mission trips and projects that are sponsored by Sunnybrook.
    • All funding is contingent upon available funds in the Mission Committee budget for a calendar year that is designated for mission trip assistance. 
    • Mission trip participant must complete the “Financial Assistance for Short-Term Missions Trips” application.
    • After submitting the application, you will be notified by the Missions Committee within 4-6 weeks of their decision for financial assistance.
